An old Wall Street saying... :Money goes where it's treated best: This is a truism. Nobody will or can argue with that saying and right now we are learning that money is not treated best in the U.S.
More and more taxes are being piled on to U.S. citizens and U.S. corporations (highest corporate tax rate in the world) and as a result more and more producers and corporations are leaving.
Here's the latest example. FACEBOOK

Gitmo still open.
US troops in the 'Stan for another decade.
Drones killing moslems by the dozen.
Supports gay marriage?
Who does Obama think he is.... Dick Cheney?

Least He's Got THAT Going For Him
So....
The Democratic National Convention is going to be held at Bank of America Stadium in a gay-marriage banning, non-union state.
Who picked the venue, Karl Rove?

How Could You...
Vote for Obama again?
The first time you did it is understandable. You didn't do any real homework on him, you watched NBC, you didn't like McCain (neither did I) etc. etc. but now?
He's been a complete disaster on every level.
The economy is still in the tank, unemployment is still well above 8%, he has accumulated more debt in 3 years than Bush did in 8 (he called Bush unpatriotic for all that debt by the way). Gas prices are through the roof and we have no discernible energy policy at all. (energy should probably have it's own paragraph)
Foreign Policy.. almost as bad. Iraq is looking worse than it did before he took over. He expanded the war in Afghanistan. Syria is in a free fall while Obama sits idly by. He sided with the mullahs in Iran, and he has alienated Israel.
Other failures and broken promises:
AIG bonuses and money to Goldman Sachs
Eric Holder.. (completely incompetent)
Fast and Furious (plus the stonewalling on it)
GITMO
NASA
Tax Cheat appointees (multiple)
Keystone Pipeline
Corzine is still raising $ for him NOW!!!
etc. etc.
Really there's too many to list but you get the point. Why would you vote for this guy?

Uncritically...
That's the key word. Because it fits an agenda so it was published in the NY Times.
Reporting on Nigeria’s growing population, Elisabeth Rosenthal uncritically advances the popular narrative that large populations hamper economic development

Interesting Reading...
Big changes and big goals have been keeping me busy but I'm back and I'm going to try to be more active for all of our followers.. both of them! For today I'm easing back in with some stories that I'm following and maybe a quick comment or two.
The Polar Bears Are Drowning..... ummmm... not really. Apparently "global warming" is good for them too...
Hypocrisy.... really it's not just Obama but it's fun to pick on him.

I May Be The Smartest Man In The World
I remember talking to Rhino one day during the '08 campaign after watching Nicolle Wallace square off against Robert Gibbs on Morning Joe. Gibbs absolutely destroyed her, embarrassing destroyed, career ending destroyed. I couldn't help but think... this Gibbs guy is an absolute moron, this broad is in the tank for Obama. barring a serious head injury suffered right before the appearance, there was no other explanation.
Turns out, Nicolle Wallace voted for Obama.
Nuf ced.

Representative Democracy?
"It's unidentified. I saw something, also, you have to keep in mind that more -- that Jimmy Carter saw a UFO -- and also that more people in this country have seen UFO's than, I think, approve of George Bush's presidency." ~ Dennis Kucinich
Said during an actual democratic presidential primary debate.
Yawn
I am not going to write a post about media hypocrisy.
Cancelled HBO and signed up for Rush's premium content. Never watched much of the first, and dont really have the time for the later, but thats what I did.

The WILL to Win
It looks like George doesn't have it. He's already hedging and looking for a "good loss" which is how he so pusillanimously characterizes the Goldwater defeat. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he lose to Lyndon Johnson? Is that a good loss? Didn't Johnson usher in his "Great Society" programs that are still crushing our economy today? Didn't he really take FDR's disasterous policies to the next level of ridiculousness?
Is it just me or is this President and this congress extremely weak and vulnerable? Shouldn't we strike while the iron is hot? There is no reason conservatives can't take both.
Not to mention the fact that Will paints a pretty rosy picture of how the republicans would automatically make Obama a lame duck president if they controlled congress. Is he really so ignorant of history that he forgets just a few years ago when RINO republicans led by the senior senator from Arizona created the "Gang of 13"? A republican controlled congress doesn't mean a CONSERVATIVE controlled congress. There's a difference George and you embarrass yourself with that idiotic mistake.

Get Your Bald Guy Tee Shirts Here!!!
Hank Paulson was just on CNBC, defending his abysmal track record by saying that "he wasn't an economist", well isn't that great, but shouldn't he have let that cat out of the bag before accepting the job as Secretary of the Treasury. Just sayin'.
It reminded me of a passage from a book I just started reading, 'The Sugar King of Havana: The Rise And Fall of Julio Lobo.'
"Guevara certainly made for an unlikely central banker. He loved telling the story of how he got the job. Supposedly, at a cabinet meeting to decide who should be the new bank governor, Fidel Castro had said that what he needed was a good "economista." Guevara stuck up his hand, much to Castro's surprise. "But Che, I didn't know you were an economist!" Oh I thought you said you needed a good "comunista," Guevara replied."
Thats right, Occupy Wall St., the mustached guy on your shirt was a banker, and a dumb one at that.

Greece Is The Word

Take a look at the two charts above from The Heritage Foundation It's unsustainable. And now the left is screaming to spend the "War Savings" (money no longer being spent on Iraq) on more entitlement programs. How long before we get to the point that Greece is at? Probably decades but that just makes it worse. Kind of like Dagny Taggert hanging on and making that rail line work... it's just prolonging the suffering. We need drastic changes now.Saturday, February 11, 2012
Galileo.. and Donkey... Were Right.
The Donkey as been saying it all along. Global Warming? It's the Sun! He is of course correct and no matter how much algore and his minions at the IPCC try to cover it up the truth will eventually come out. We did a post over a year ago about the CERN experiment done by Danish physicist Henrik Svensmark. Nobody cared and in fact the global warming establishment tried to bury it. Then there was the BEST story. A Berkley professor decided to prove that the earth is warming, his research showed that he is wrong, so he lied about it.
Well now we have Professor Fritz Vahrenholt one of the "founding fathers" of the German environmental movement who actually did some of his own homework for once and guess what?
That's right he's now a skeptic and he's written a book. (i'm not going to read it. Donkey already told me it's the Sun)

Bring The Troops Home
This is something I've been saying for years. Why do we still have so many troops and so many bases around the world, and especially in Europe to stop the advancement of the Soviet Union?
Didn't Reagan already take care of that? Didn't we witness the destruction of the Berlin Wall? It seems a waste of resources to still have such a huge presence in these areas. I understand South Korea because we want to be wary of the Chinese but why Germany? Couldn't those assets (people/equipment/cash) be better used somewhere else?

I WIN THE BET!
Too bad nobody took me up on it.
I will bet any amount of money! Jan 2011
“After the largest tax hike in our history, the state continues to be in this precarious fiscal position with persistent payment delays, and frankly, the situation is unlikely to significantly improve in the near term,”
Crazy that I was able to predict this without a degree in economics (or any other kind of degree for that matter) or a Nobel Peace Prize.
Paul Krugman is a piker.

Chavez or Obama?
In the United States of America the government doesn't have the authority to dictate to private industry like they do in socialist countries like Venezuela. Of course they didn't have the authority in Venezuela either but that doesn't stop a megalomaniac like Hugo Chavez. But that kind of stuff can't happen here because our president is restrained by our constitution.... right?.....eh comrade?

With Reservations?
What does that even mean? You just agreed to indefinite detention of American citizens for being SUSPECTED of terrorism. Holder is hoping that doesn't include selling guns to Mexican warlords who then use those guns to terrorize citizens on both sides of the border.... but I digress.
Where does it say in the constitution that this is allowed? All of a sudden the anti- Gitmo people are ok with it as long as it's U.S. citizens? Where are the protests? Where's the pie in the face? I guess it's ok as long as it damages our country and strengthens our enemies.

The Truth Has No Friends..
Interesting.
Socrates felt that even though he was born Athenian he was a citizen of the world.
During his public trial he remarked that “A man who really fights for justice must lead a private, not a public, life if he is to survive for even a short time” (Plato. Apology. 32a)

Obama's A Failure says....
Chris Matthews? Well he didn't use those words and what I find interesting is when he says " you wouldn't believe the stories I've heard". Well if it was a republican president I'm sure you would tell us the stories and try to make us believe them. So he's still carrying water for Obama even though he knows the guys a loser and I'm certain that his attitude will change when it comes to election time.
